Can See All My Ram

Well I Installed a new motherboard here is the link http://tinyurl.com/yfbw5bv

I bought max ram a 4 Gig here is the link to it.

Problem is After i setup Vista Ultimate look at Computer Properties and it only reads 2.5 gig Ram

Is your OS 32 bit or 64 bit ?

You may have a 32 bit version of ultimate, or your motherboard isn't recognizing all the ram, due to limitations of each ram slot. Run cpuid, a free download, to see what it reads.

Vista Ultimate comes with 2 DVD's. One for 32 bit, and one for 64 bit. Sounds very like you used the 32 bit.

okay when i checked it tonight when i boot up in the black screen ram says 2.5 Gig ram could it be a bios thing?

Had Frys Test the Ram Today and it was good solid 4 Gig

open an elevated command prompt (type cmd in the search box, right click the restult and choose 'Run As Administrator')

type: msconfig

This brings up the configuration utility.

Click the Boot tab, and then click the Advanced Options button.

In that window, there is a setting for Maximum Memory - Make sure the checkbox for it is clear (not checked), then reboot your computer.

and is it running a 2.50 or all 4.00 Gig

I Googled open an elevated command prompt

I got that done!

now when i reboot the startup black screen shows 2.50 Gig Memory

and once it reboots i look at computer properties and i shows 2.50 Memory

I looked in the setting for Maximum Memory and it saved no check mark so it is set

to unlimited is the something in the Bios that can limit memory?

Try updating your BIOS to the latest version.Also did you buy 2 of the RAMs you linked ?
I mean you have 2x2GB RAM ?
