I have the following installed:

Intel E7400 2.8GHZ CPU overclocked to 3.2 GHZ
Nvidia 250 GTS 1GB
4GB RAM

I am considering an CPU upgrade to a Quad core 2.4 GHZ. I mostly play games on my rig and occasional do some video editing. Do I really need better, or is it just manly to want more...

i think u should go for the quad core for gameing will run games much smoother

If you don't overclock, the 2.4Ghz will actually lower your fps in most games when compared to your 3.2ghz dual core.

Games wont run any smoother unless they're optimized for quad cores, which most arent. Other than that, if you overclock it to 3.2 you'll get the same performance in games and much better performance in video editing.

So unless newer games come out that are opyimized for quads it is safer and better to use my trusty 3.2...?
