I'm building a machine for web design, video editing, and publishing. It sounds like Nvidia's Quadro cards are well suited for my uses, but I may play an occasional game like X-Plane flight simulator, where a G200 series would be better.
I know Quadro firmware/software isn't made for gaming, but is there a setting in their software that could be switched to a "gaming mode" for better performance?
Or would a GTX260 do well enough for small business webdesign/video editing/publishing?
90% of the time this will be a work computer, 10% gaming.
So, other things equal, GTX 260 or Quadro FX 580 or even Quadro FX 1800 (a little more $)?

Thanks

OK. So I've got the current hot setup: i7 920 w/TRUE, Asus P6T Deluxe V2, WD Caviar Black 1TB, Pioneer Blu-Ray Burner. I'm looking at OCZ PLatinum DDR3 12GB (I like Mushkin, but the OCZ is soo much less expensive).
Now I'm thinking the GTX 275 because it has OpenGL 3.0 and seems better suited to video editing with 1792 GB.

I think that's the way I'll go.

Thanks!

Well Quadro fx or FireGL are industrial graphic cards, which dont much resemble by consumer graphic cards, except that they have better performance for some of the calculations by design software, but it can be even achieved on cheaper cards by modding graphic firmware.

As for performance in Photoshop the better CPU (More cores) is the main component that justifies the price for faster rendering calculations.
