* GTX 295 Getting Weak Vantage Scores *

My EVGA GTX 295 is getting very low scores, 13862 in performance mode on Vantage.
System is :
i7 920 with TRUE
EVGA GTX 295
Corsair Dominator CAS8 DDR1600 6gb tri channel
Samsung Spinpoint F1 640gb 16mb buffer
Antec P183+CX850 PSU
Gigabyte X58 UD4p Mobo

Everything is running at stock speeds, system score is 15980, CPU is 29512, GPU is 13862 mentioned above.
Is something wrong with my card?

More about weak vantage scores
  1. Key word "Stock Speeds" goodbye.
  2. Ah..comp was in power saving mode...but it's still slightly slower than it should be compared to reference design scores.
    17334 GPU Vantage Performance score, what's up with that?
  3. thats about right

    my q6600 pulls 15000ish with my 295
  4. My friend gets 22200 Vantage Score with q6600 3.7GHz & GTX295 OC. Do you test some games to see how much performance you get.
  5. Normal score for a normal, nothing overclocked, nothing tweaked computer.
    Is it displaying bad performance in any games you play?
  6. I'm playing Prototype...@1680x1050 with 2x AA high settings, i'm only getting like 17-20 FPS.
    Stock speeds for everything, but wtf is going on.
  7. I just disabled SLI, and i was getting 35+ FPS constant...is my second card in my gtx 295 dead or something?
    I re-enabled SLI and it dropped back down to <20 fps...I tried AFR and force splitting, and even the default "Let Nvidia Decide"...wtf is going on
  8. OK, I just tried "Force Alternate Frame Rendering 2", and I'm getting 35+ FPS constant @1680x1050 with high settings with 4x AA...
    Seems low considering a single 4870 can get 60 fps on my rig based on toms prototype benchies, but is this because of my stock speeds?
    And what is the difference between AFR 1 and 2????
    Because AFR1+split frame rendering are getting me <20 FPS constant...is there something wrong with my card???
  9. I'm running dual 8800GT's and I get higher frame rates than that, so yes either the card is faulty or Prototype does not like 'SLi on a stick' or 'other'.

    You have to Disable some stuff from HID at the device manager and problem solved.

    ummm sorry what do u mean? can u clarify
  12. Prototype doesn't use SLI right?

    can anyone confirm this?
    i'm getting 200+fps frames for team fortress 2 maxed out.
    same with left for dead.
    but prototype and wow i'm getting like under 30
  14. well for some reason prototype has never been benched with sli systems
    and when I play it, my 2nd GPU of my GTX 295 is hotter than the first one, which never happens in other games I play, which I know support SLI
  15. L4D and TF2 aren't exactly what we'd call system taxing games.

    There is a bug in Prototype that makes you get very low fps(this can happened to anyone doesn’t mater what GPU you have this have something to do with the Human Interface Devices) to fix this you have to disable some devices in the device manager -> Human Interface Devices

    Prototype support SLI only if you are using 186 or 190 drivers, but there is a problem
    These drivers don’t have SLI profiles for the UK/European release. To fix this you have to install nHancer v2.5.1 and make a profile for Prototype.

    Here is the default profile as shipped with the driver:

    <PROFILE Label="Prototype">
    <APPLICATION Label="prototype.exe"/>
    <PROPERTY Label="multichip_rendering_mode" Value="0x42400005" Default="0x42400005" Itemtype="predefined"/>
    </PROFILE>

    Here is the changed profile, which you have to use as the .exe file as per the above profile does not reflect the actual .exe for the UK/European release:

    <PROFILE Label="Prototype">
    <APPLICATION Label="prototypef.exe"/>
    <PROPERTY Label="multichip_rendering_mode" Value="0x42400005" Default="0x42400005" Itemtype="predefined"/>
    </PROFILE>
  17. sweet, working perfect now! thanks!!
