Win7 with 2gb or 4gb

hi all, I have two seperate questions:
1. i have windows 7 installed with 2gb of memory. if i add another 2gb giving me a total of 4gb, will i notice a difference in speed?
2. do they make 2GB DDR 400 memory modules? i've only ever seen 1gb modules.

i just bought a house, i need to buy air conditioning, blinds for all my windows, a fence, TV, dining room furniture, etc. i'm not upgrading my PC for another 4 years probably. so should i spend $100 on another 2gb of ram?

DDR is more expensive that DDR2 and maybe DDR3 'cause is too old, and today only few rigs keeps this ram on use.ahh i missed that it didnt state ddr"2" nm that old stuff is getting expensive. its like trying to by brand new sd ram. better off going to see a computer repair guy and see if hes got some old piles of ram laying aroud use.
