I have had the UPS dismounted, because the battery was cracked and seemed to require replacement.
The technician who dismounted is likely to have forgotten whether the fuse should be screwed to the (+) or the (-) ends of the new batteries, and, there seems to be no clear indication within the manual at http://www.apcmedia.com/salestools [...] R0_EN.pdf.
