Hi just wanted to know if this new X4 620 is compatible with the Asus M2n32SLI deluxe board
Well it's a 940 pin proc.
My mobo has already had it's Bios updated so was just wondering
And by the way a lotta dumb people keep saying go and look up the compatibility pages of the manufacturer
Well, to all those chaps there it's been done and sense it made no sense, thats why the question is being asked
The mobo, after the bios update seems to be supporting a lot more processors then it did before but I think it's a socket AM2 and the X4 620 is and AM3........
I think AM3's are rverse compatible with the AM2+ but will it get into and AM2 and work is what my dilemma is all about

Ok Hi I just put in the Athlon II X4 620 onto my M2N32SLI Delux.
Seems to be working fine, just a few negligible hassels, I'm running Vist Ultimate X64 with 4 GB DDR2 @800MHz. My task manager under vista shows still the same two processor graphs..... I wonder why....
Similarly, Core temp and HW Monitor show temps of just 2 Cores plus CPUZ is showing 2Cores and 2 Threads.....
Is it fault with the readings? or then, is it something that my earlier X2 4400+ has left behind ???
The links for the two CPUz Reports are below

This is with the earlier Proc

And this is with the new one
Although I keep getting a sing saying validation rejected by CPUZ dunno....

well, now for some news..... my processor touched a whopping 2.99Ghz on OCing it on the same Mobo..... with absolutely no heat issues...... only the standard air cooling...... has been running stable for a nice 48 hours now......

if u have only 2 cores showing on coretemp, you gotta delete all the entries of the previous cpu

Reply to ubernoobie

All that was done..... the mobo itself limits everything to 2 cores......

There are a lot of AM2+ mobos for about $40-$50, so save up and experience a quad core.

Oh No...... I'm getting myself the MSI DG70 board with a whole new rig..... SSD's and the works.... so no worries.... this was experimenting with the AM3 in an AM2 board.... since the world didn't give us an opinion it had to be done and so I guess I went ahead and did it....
I guess a few other guys did get something to learn from my experience and it helped them save a few bucks... So no worries...
