should i be worried about any problems as the 4870 x2 i just got is a refurbished model? or is sapphire good at restoring the card to its former glory? i got it for waaaay cheaper then a new 500$ one so at any rate.

to keep tempuratures down im going to be throwing a aftermarket 4870 x2 cooler on.

i already have a 4870 x2 though, but i don't mind the extra scratch on a cooler, and i actually think it will make my system look cooler to add to it heh... well im in love with the card, and as long as she works were good. but iv never had a issue with a sapphire card in my ATI lifetime, and they are all i buy (although i will be checking out XFX in the future).

a sapphire 4870 x2 goes for 499.99 normal. and i know it broke in the past, but it was fixed and passed testing, i really do trust memory express as they have been good to me & friends for a very long time.

and it was refurbished because the amateur who owned it before had a burnout by being reckless.

that's pretty good, its 500 normal at memory express, but i got mine for like 300 bucks, and its 100% tested, still has warranty ( they have to give me a new one off the shelf if it breaks). so yea, even if i only saved 50 bucks, im happy. although i will be looking into XFX into the future.

For less than 500.00$ you can get a GTX 295 and trust me it is faster than a 4870x2...

Make sure you visit newegg the next time you decide to buy parts for your PC...... You en up saving a ton of money compared to your local retailer....

Check the temps on your card using speedfan and make sure it does not go past 70c.

Set the fan speed to 60% when you play a game or watch an HD movie. this way your card lasts longer and will cause less issues....Other than that you should be fine....

ill be using the add on fan that runs the card a 40C over 90C, and i HATE Nvidia, and will never purchase one of their cards, although sadly i will use a eVGA board.... and it appears to me the 4870 x2 outperforms the GTX 295. and as stated i didn't pay 500 bucks for my card, i payed 300.

and i do use Newegg, i got my mobo and ram from there, was gonna buy my i7 there, but i got it for 200 bucks unopened on ebay.

Yea I was just giving you an example of what is in the 500.00$ range....

Trust me Ati does not have a card that can outperform GTX 295.

and i will be looking into the 5870 x2 or the 5890 x2 depending on what the flagship model is. and i just may look at the GTX 300, as i have seen good things on it and my board is crossfire and SLI enabled. (thank you eVGA!)

and its not just my GPU that effects my preformence, im hoping my 4 Ghz i7 920 will give it a helping hand when it needs it.

Ohh, dont get me wrong.. You have a hell of a card there..... Just make sure you take care of it and monitor the temps every now n then.... [:jaydeejohn:5]

LOL nobody clued in that the original poster is NOT from USA.

Memory Express is a good company, never had a problem. They rival NCIX.com here in canada.

good pickup.
