I'm getting frequent freezing on My Win&-64bit HP8200 AMD based system.
I'm just using IE after boot up and the system hangs, sometimes preceded (but not Always) by a huge amount of disk activity.

The syslog is registering multiple events as below:

nvstor64 Event ID 3
Data error on device.

Device: \Device\RaidPort0
Model: WDC WD1001FALS-00E8B0
Firmware Version: 05.0
Serial Number: WD-WMATV6942213
Port: 0

Did you ever find a fix to this problem? I'm having the same issue.

Yes I did get it fixed.

I had done two things prior to the error occurring,
1) added more ram, I went from 2G to 4G
2) replaced the 500GB hard drive with a 1TB drive.

I removed the new 2G of ram and replaced the SATA cable.
The problem seems to have disappeared.

I think the problem was the SATA cable, and I intend to put the 2G of ram back in to verify.

The system didn't just hang as it would with a memory issue, the error message was definitively relating to a HDD error.
