Computer clock and date resets

Hello,

Every time I boot up my computer, the clock and date resets to 12am and 1/2007. Does anyone know what is causing this?

Most likely the batter that keeps your bios is dead. You should check your motherboards manual to find the correct battery to replace it with.

You need a new CMOS battery. Usually it's like CR2032 or something. It's like a watch battery and kind of looks like a thin nickle. It should be on the lower part of your motherboard. Be sure that the computer is unplugged when you remove the battery and when you put it back in.

Make sure you insert the replacement the same way the earlier battery came out.
