Best LGA775 CPU

hi im looking to upgrade my E8400 cpu, all i want the cpu for really is gaming. so my question is what the best LGA775 CPU to get without going into mega buks like the extreme? im looking at the Quad 9650 3.0ghz. anys ideas would b great! motherboard is a asus rampage.

if you wanna change cpu mobo and ram rather get the i5 its at bout the same price and is faster then just bout any c2q

well the q9650 has been clocked higher then any c2q so that would be it
