^ Things you should know - You can use only DDR3 RAM with AM3 boards and DDR2 RAM with AM2+ boards...And currently the price of DDR2 and DDR3 is very close...So going with DDR3 makes complete sense...

And what is the make and model of that PSU ? For your setup it would suffice(assuming its a good quality one)

The combination of CPU and motherboard will largely determine whether you need DDR2 or DDR3 RAM. Type of RAM will not measurably affect system power use.

A good 500 or 550 watt PSU will run any system with most single video cards with plenty of power to spare. My favorite is the Corsair 550VX (41 amp 12 volt rail)

A good budget choice is the Antec 500 watt BASIQ
