BIOS doesn't see SSD

Hi There!

I have an ASUS A8E-N motherboard with the last/latest BIOS, 1013. Chipset is nVidia nForce 4.

I purchased a Kingston 64GB SSD (SV100S2/64GZ) to load Windows 7 (64 bit) on and use as the boot drive.

Unfortunately, after removing an existing, unused SATA hard drive and plugging in the SSD, the BIOS does not see the SSD after a reboot. Unplugged the PC, and then tried again. No luck.

I have two other SATA hard drives plugged in, and after swapping around ports/cables, no luck.

There are no mode settings in the BIOS for SATA other then Enable/Disable. Shouldn't this thing just behave like any old SATA drive?

Any suggestions are welcome! :hello:

Shaun

You should have the BIOS set for the Solid state drive to "AHCI" mode
