I have a small ibm laptop with 700 or 900mhz intel and want to take a amd 2.4 gighhz and put it in Will it fit or work? Her are my pc specs.

700 megahertz Intel Pentium III
32 kilobyte primary memory cache
256 kilobyte secondary memory cache

Board: IBM 2647LU2

S3 Graphics Savage/IX 1014 [Display adapter

Not a chance. You cant swap an AMD for an intel, the sockets are physically incompatible, and you wouldnt be able to purchase any processor new today that would fit into a pentium III socket, especially not an older laptop one like that. A cheap netbook would greatly out perform that system though for only a couple hundred if you dont have the funds to buy a full fledged notebook at the moment.

Prices on small laptops have really come down lately. Something in the $300/350 range would be much faster than what you have ;)
