Intel nvidia sli board recommendations

I'm currently looking for an LGA 775 board recommendation. I know, a bit ancient, but I don't want to splurge on a new processor as well. The board needs to support SLI (dual 8800 GTs), 8 GB of RAM, and RAID. I'm coming from a GA-P35-DS3L which is decent but does not support SLI or RAID. The processor is an E8400. Thanks! In the past I've always had good luck with ASUS especially with AMD chipsets, but the SLI Intel boards have gotten mixed reviews. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks.

I would check your ram on asus website, and see if it's recommended for the board you're interested in. But first checkout the DFI lanparty utx48-T2R that uses ddr2. It's around $130 shipped at newegg.

i found this board on ebay for $145. not a bad deal though I don't really need the 3rd 16x pci-x lane

It's a bit risky buying a motherboard on e-bay IMO. Here's a new Asus board for a good price:

I agree. if your gonna do ebay or used stuff, the one thing you should NEVER get used, or risk, is your Motherboard. spend the extra bit. its like the foundation for everything. if you try building a house on a shaky foundation she could fall down and burn.... start with a good quality motherboard, then if your used parts burn then at least you can swap them out and put something newer into your nice solid foundation
