Hi!
Yesterday i noticed the guy who built my pc installed the cpu fan the other way so my airflow was messed up. I unscrewed it and turned it around. Then i also unintentionally unplugged the sata cable from the hdd, so i plugged it back into the mobo (i have 4 sata connectors but didnt know which one it was so i plugged it into the first one.
After that when i started the pc i immediately noticed that both the intake and exhaust fans were not spinning. The pc itself didn't boot up and asked me to "reboot and select a proper boot device".
BIOS reads the hdd as a 4th primary master ide and is able to read its details so it probably isn't messed up majorly. Even if i rule out other boot devices in BIOS, it still won't boot, no matter which sata port i use.
Also about the fans, they are connected by a single yellow cable to the mobo with a jumper connector and with two (red and black) cables that lead to the psu.
I greatly appreciate any help as this is quite bothering me...
My specs:
2gb ddr2 ram
320gb SATA hdd
GeForce 8800GTS
Intel C2D E6600@2,40 OC'd to 3,4GHz
2 Cd-rw drives
Asus p5w64 ws pro Mobo
(not) running win7 rc
I corrected the fan problems now, just plugged them into different power sockets and they're working now.
The problem now is that my pc won't boot up, and I can't reinstall windows, the installer says that the whole disc is unallocated and i get an error message that it cannot create a partition...
