So this happened a few times.. first started last month. drive failure caused the video card fan to stop spinning..

now its back. The fans work and all but when i have the case on and playing a game.. GG, pixels and 2 bit colors and comp freezes.

so taking the case off fixes it.

NVIDIA 8800 GT 62 celsius idle.

75 Celsius gaming.

58 idle WITH external fan

68 gaming WITH external fan

im too afraid to put the case on. I dont know if i have a heatsink (lol) but i have 1 fan above the card. and 1 on the card, 1 by the CPU, 1 by the motherboard and 1 by the hard drive.

could this be a fan issue or air flow? yes i know the air flow comes out the back and it doesnt help that its 6 inches away from a wall. could it also be dust?

any idea why it overheated with the case on then? dont want to take anymore chances. cause i waited about 18 hours. turned it back on and still looked fried. 3 restarts fixed it though

it could also be a power supply issue. though, i would suggest feeling how much airflow is coming from the fans currently in your case. if they dont seem to be putting out to much air flow, get new fans

speed fan can give off what sort of speed they are spinning at, if they are connected to the motherboard and have the yellow wire. other than that, put our hand up to it, judge from there wether or not its enough

i put my hands to all the fans. they seem to be blowing air around 70 degrees.. because they were all cool. i think theres too much heat builiding up inside the case, thus taking it off allowed it to escape?
