Could someone explain the diff between these two? So, besides the obvious wattage diff, the only thing i can find is a SLIGHT amperage diff on the rails, the one is 30a, and the other is 28a. But the the prices are confusing me considering their specs. Why would the 850 be prices less when they have the same efficiency, same brand, etc.

Here is a link to the Thermaltake specification page for model WO319RU, 850 watt, 60 amp, Black Widow:

Here is a link to the Thermaltake specification page for model W0106RU, 700 watt, 56 amp, Toughpower:

As OvrClkr already pointed out the obvious difference are the PCI-e power cables for video cards. The Black Widow comes with two of the newer 8 pin PCI-e power cables. If I remember correctly those 8 pin power connections are backward compatible with 6 pin connections. I think the Black Window even comes with a 6 pin to 8 pin adapter.

I don't have any reference material for the two power supplies but they probably...
Based on the info on NewEgg there, it looks like the BW has 4x 12v Rails @ 18A each. But the picture of the product label for the 700W unit also shows 4 x 12V Rails @ 18A each.

If the BW really has 2x6pin & 2x8pin, is 850W, and that much cheaper, I'd go that route.

I built a pc with a black widow not too long ago.....

it's currently powering dual GTX 260's .........

Nice, it looks like a steal. Thermaltake puts out good stuff typically. So no worries there. 850W with 4x 18A rails is not shabby. With the specs listed on the two models, it sorta seems like a no-brainer to get the Black Widow version. On paper it appears to be the superior product, and it's a good chunk less money.

By the way, that Black Widow is $10 off instantly. So it's $109. Plus there's a 15% promo code (TTOCT15) on it right now until 10/25. That brings purchase price down to $93.49. Plus there's a $20 MIR after that. Final price after rebate of $73.49.

EDIT: This is what I'm using.

The Thermaltake is basically the same thing, but for much less.

Actually, maybe they aren't the same. I'm not at home right now to look at my Antec TPQ-850. However, NewEgg's spec sheet says each 12V rail is 25A, where as the pictures NewEgg provides show 18A each rail. I remember seeing this when I initially bought the PSU. Apparently NewEgg hasn't updated their listing.

Seems to me when I actually received the PSU, it was 25A each rail. So there is a difference. I'm thinking Antec must have changed their specs on it without changing the model.

Antec says it's 25A per rail on their site:

Prices can get crazy. Right now there are quite a few large discounts, free shipping, and mail-in rebates available. Sometimes the final price for higher wattage power supplies wind up being lower than slightly lower wattage psu's. We're seeing the same thing with Corsair power supplies and several other brands.

Solution
Correct, the BW does come with several adapters including the 6pin to 8pin adapter.
The only reason I would suggest the 850 is due to being more future-proof if you decide to add any power hungry cards to the unit....And the price of course.... Both PSU's have a 5 year warranty....
