Graphics Card Upgrade

I am contemplating upgrading my video card from an ATI 2600pro to an ATI 4670 and was wondering if there will be much of an improvement. Since my motherboard is only PCI-E 1.0 and the new card is 2.0 although backwards compatible, will it be worth it? Will any gain be lost due to not having a 2.0 slot? I am not a “gamer” but do have a Hi Def tuner card and want the best video possible. I chose this card because it is DDR3 as opposed to DDR2 and has twice the memory 1g as opposed to 512 and feel it is about as far as I can go without making any other changes. My computer is a Dell E521 with 4g of memory and an AthlonX2 5800 processor. I also upgraded the power supply to a PC Power & Cooling 470W so no problem there. I suppose I could even go with a better card, but am limited to one slot as all the others are also being used. Any help would be appreciated….Ron K.

For your usage, that ATI 2600pro is suffice...

HD 4850 would be an overkill...
For that matter, you can do away with just a HD 4650 for your needs and that too you are not a gamer...

Honestly stick with your current card. That is plenty of card for your current needs.
