Hi, working on first system build.
I am going to buy

AMD Phenom II X3 720 2.8GHz Socket AM3 95W Triple-Core + ASUS M4A78T-E AM3 AMD 790GX HDMI ATX AMD Motherboard

will I need to buy thermal paste or is it included?


and I have a copy of XP Home that I've been using to reformat my laptop. Is it also usable on my new build or will I have to get new OS?

Yes a thermal pad is included with the processor. Yes you will probably have to buy a new OS cd.

Is the drive cable for the hard drive supposed to come with the mother board?

yes, that motherboard comes with 2 sata cables and an IDE cable so you can connect the hard drive.
