Side panel fan effective?

Hey guys! So, my XFX 6870 gets quite warm when I play games and such. I don't think it gets too warm. Still though, I'm wondering if a fan on the side panel would be effective.

As you can see, the fan would slightly miss the video card. So, would the fan be effective?

YES, it will cool the GPU....

very much so. that fan is VITAL if you ever SLI or CF a rig.

put a fan filter over it, otherwise you'll blow dust right in, but not a big deal if you like to clean often.
