My system: HP Pavilion p6140in My system specs: Core2Duo 2.80Ghz, 4GB Ram DDR2, 2 DVD Writers, Boston G31 Chipset Motherboard, On-Board Realtek LAN and Soundcard, Hipro 250W power supply. My Question: can i successfully run a XFX nVidia 9600GT or a GT220 1GB DDR 3 card? will it cause an problems?
i dont think you should have any problem, just check around to see the power consuption of those graphic cards as it might be to much for that tinny power supply
If your current PSU won't do the trick, take a look around the net, as if memory serves me correctly, there are plenty of places that make PSU's for HP's, Dell's, etc...
That looks like a regular sized case so therefore the PSU would prolly be a standard one, id suggest a 500W + branded PSU though u could just get away with 400 if u wana go cheap, with those GPU's u suggested
From what I read you're using those two cards for reference..?. but the 220 won't be very good for gaming if that's your goal.. A power supply with 30 or 32 amps should be fine for your hardware. Forget the watts stuff.
