Looking for a new video card please help

I'm building a new system with intel quad core and 6 gigs of ddr3 also a power supply of 750watts.
I'm heavily into flight simming and photography, I'm looking for a nvidia graphics card that is able to deliver high quality graphics please make your suggestions. thanks Trex01

Both ATi and nVidia have different types of graphic cards. I definitely think you will benefit on getting one which have a lot of RAM on it, especially if you intend on going for high screen resolutions.

I play on1280 x960 budget is about$500.00 Canadian what do you think of the Asus 8800gtx ?

4850 might even be overkill at that size screen even. A GTS 250 or HD 4770 would fit that screen size nicely I think.

Any of the three though. That are around $100 US not sure how much that converts to Canadian.

yeah that is true. If you can get a 4870 or even a 4850 x2 you would be set for quiet a while at that resolution. You could easily max out any game out even crysis with AA turned on with a 4850 x2 at that resolution.

If you have a 24" flatscreen i would only be gaming at the native Res of 1920x1200 , any other res and u will lose the graphic detail!!

On a 24" monitor i would go for a 4870/gtx260 at the least.

Thanks for your help sorry i took so long to respond but mY house is being renovated and its a mess. I have changed the incorrect resolution to 1280 x1024 much better. I'm looking for the latest in graphics cards , Imust admit I'm not a radeon fan I had a very bad experience with them. I much prefer nvidia in the form of Asus or BFG.I donr want older cards however i'm looking for around one gig or more direct 10. I'm trying to future proof this bugger. does physX or cuda make a difference.

cuda is nothing major and all physx is really giving you is a bit more eye candy in certain games and a few more fps. If you are for 'future proof' which means about a year now days lol then you want something like a HD4870, DH4890 or a GTX 285. However my advice to you is to wait. The next line up of cards from both companies are coming out within a month or so. If you like something in that lineup you will have the latest thing out but if you want one of the current cards their prices will be dropping due to the new ones.

Also ATI is now almost even with Nvidia as far as performance nowdays and is much cheaper. A 4890 with the latest drivers that just came out is likely only just barely weaker then the GTX 285 depending on the game and cost $100 less.
