Why wont my directx work?

Hello, the sims 2 castaway stories won't work on my computer because I don't have a "directx9.0 compatible graphics card" but my computer says I have all the latest dirextx9.0 updates instaled. I have a windows XP version 2002 service pack 3 computer. The game worked on the computer before but now it won't.

Try rolling back your graphics driver.
