Friends,
i have palit 4850 GDDR5 clocked to match a 4870. Its really rare to find that card and i got it for less than 150$ 3 months ago .Even CCC shows its a 4870 <the update window>. Now. i fried my 945gnt running a pent d 3.00 ghz <non oc> . And i am lookin for a board which supports lga 775. i chose one already --P45 UD3p. going to buy next week.
the thing is, i was looking forward to go multi gpu next month. i wanted to know--
1. Can it be paired with a 4770 with considerable performance gain??
2. Can it be paired with a 4850 with considerable performance gain?
3. Can it be paired with a 4870 <different brand> with considerable performance gain ??
4. IS crossfire REALLY WORTH IT?????
5. Dont laugh but is my processor that powerful to support that crossfire <is crossfire cpu dependent>.
OR
Should i wait for the next gen 5800's?????
Thanks
You are wasting your time and money crossfiring the 4850/4870 with a Pentium D, my own E6600 needed a overclock to properly drive a single HD4870, use the money for a faster processor instead.
BTW, what is the PSU and what resolution is your monitor?
