Hello,
I'm waiting for my new dell notebook that is configured with 500GB HDD x 2. Would I be able to replace one of the hard drives with just a 128gb SSD or will I need to match the capacity of the other drive?
thanks in advance.

Solution
Depends how these drives are configured. If they are used together for RAID then you are going to waste capacity.

Might be better just to run the SSD for your OS and use the other 500GB for storage.

If your machine has enough space I guess you can keep the other 500GB in as well. Otherwise you could pick up an external drive enclosure and have a 500GB external drive.
