Well I Installed a new motherboard here is the link http://tinyurl.com/yfbw5bv

I bought max ram a 4 Gig here is the link to it.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.d [...] 0310739228

Problem is After i setup Vista Ultimate look at Computer Properties and it only reads 2.5 gig Ram

HELP ANY CLUE?

Googled open an elevated command prompt

I got that done!

now when i reboot the startup black screen shows 2.50 Gig Memory

and once it reboots i look at computer properties and i shows 2.50 Memory

I looked in the setting for Maximum Memory and it saved no check mark so it is set

to unlimited is the something in the Bios that can limit memory?

your right it was set at 2.5 Gig

when it boots in the black screen ram reads

2.50 again so could something in bios be holding it down

and is it running a 2.50 or all 4.00 Gig

what do you think?

You are running Vista 32 bit. It will never be able to use all 4 GB of memory because it is limited to a maximum of less than 4 GB.

You need Windows 64 bit (either Vista or 7) to use 4 GB or more of memory.

I am sorry that you didn't know this before you purchased the memory.

Best regards.

:pfff:

This person obviously doesn't understand the x86 4GB limit. Why do most people think this is a windows thing vice an architecture limitation? Also where in the world did this dude get the "limited to a maximum of less than 3GB" statement?

Anyway, OP, it does seem like BIOS (from reading your post) but hopefully the guys that can view your screenshots can help. Sadly all the pictures are blocked for me.
