I have an asus m4n75td which supports 140W CPU's and has 8+1 power phase.
I know if I OC my CPU it will use a lot more Watts. If I end up getting a Phenom II X6 in the future that uses 125W stock will I be bottlenecked by my motherboard as far as OCing the CPU goes? I read in a few places that if I OC the CPU then it will go over 140W on occasion and a lot during stress tests. Will my motherboard allow a CPU to use more than 140W?

Solution
If your mobo states it supports 140W CPUs then it still has a safety margin when using those high power CPUs. The Phenom II X6 125W CPUs are pretty easy on power so you should be fine even OC'd.
