I just bought 2 of the Phenom II X4 940 3.0GHz BE 125W AM2+ CPU model number: HDZ9400XCJ4DGI

Problem is, Ive searched for about an hour on google and mobo websites and have yet to find a motherboard (any board, make does not matter) that will support this damn processor. A tech from Gigabyte told me I have to find a CPU with a good chipset but didnt give me any options haha :/  Does anyone know a mobo that will support the black edition 940? thanks

Most 700 series boards that support 125W CPUs will support the 940, but older models won't post without a BIOS update, so if you don't have an older AM2 CPU that would be an issue :D . Anyway, it just depends on your budget as to what board I would recommend.

Ok Ive looked around and found the Gigabyte GA-MA74GM-S2 and Gigabyte GA-MA78LM-S2 Ive searched Gigabytes website and they have the 940 listed in CPU supoort but not the black edition. The 74GM has a AMD 740G chipset so I guess it would work with a BE CPU? Any ideas? Thanks

I would go for something like MSI 785GM-E51, Would be a good one as for your Quad core as be easier to work with, alot more to work than ECS and Bios Setup.
I have two AM3 CPU along with 2 ECS A780GM-A V1.1 , Being so much pain in the rear(( Setting of memory ram,CPU and of core)). I'm having to switch over to MSI. Best also try get latest setup M/B as if you going for Window 7, I was lucky to got mine $69.99 real good deal, as right now been watching, they're raising the prices $90 n up.
