Hey everyone,

My name is Zach, and this will be my second topical post here on the forums. First let me say thank you to everyone who helped me on my previous thread, as without your help i would be both less knowledgable and less confident in my ability to build a computer.

Origionally I had the AMD Phenom II 940 BE, but saw that by playing with the placement of combos from newegg, I could get the 955 BE for only $5 more, so I jumped on the oppertunity.

So here it is, version 5 - hopefully the final one - of my budget gaming computer. My monitor displays 19x12. I plan to overclock, so if anyone could reccomend a heatsink (? terminology), it would be much appreciated... the cheaper the better if ya catch my drift. I already have a monitor, mouse, keyboard, OS, speakers... if I am missing anything, let me know

Well from reading post and all i would have to say NO on that PSU go with a name brand like ( Corsair ) a 550W would do for that setup.

And with a AMD build i would go with DDR3 a AM3 setup Maybe this MOBO http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6813128378 With some DDR3 memory

If you plan to OC run a few HDD and maybe Xfire latter a would say go with a 750W or 850W corsair

Give sometime to let others give there 2 cents GL m8

Guys, thanks for the quick response.

While looking at the items you all reccomended, I thought of something... will the motherboard I have now support crossfire in the future.

The way I was looking at things was that in a while, when 4890s become cheaper I would buy a second and run the thing in crossfire. When I went to the motherboards page I didnt see anything saying that it would or would not support crossfire, thus my concern!

On a seperate train of thought, for now I think i will stick with the PSU that comes with the case, as its powerful enough to run all the things I want to have hooked up, and cuts my cost by a lot.

The PSU that comes with that case is a cheap generic that, at best, is overrated (may not be good for more than 75% of its label).

(worth a chuckle every time I see it)

...and at worst, may have waveforms that are out of spec, with excessive ripple and noise that may be destructive to attached equipment. Choose a quality PSU, such as Antec, Corsair, PC Power & Cooling, Seasonic, or Enermax.

Yes, your motherboard will be able to run 2 x 4890 in Crossfire. However, the generic PSU included with the case will likely be unable to handle the power requirements of the two cards. The PSU is not a good place to cut costs - go with a reliable brand.

Dude, you had all of this answered on your other post. Including the warnings about the crap PSUs. Why post the same junk when the advice has already been given?

And why post twice if you're not going to take our advice anyway?

Thank you all for the comments concerning the power supply

@ AMDThunder: While I did have another post concerning my proposed build for computer, I had always chosen to purchace the PSU seperately (I think) and if i remember correctly, this is the first time i post anyhing about a case that comes with a PSU. It has been the advice of the community that has turned this from a 600 dollar build using last generations parts to a roughly 650 build that will prove to be much more effective. I was unaware that a PSU that comes with a case is ranked as lowly as one with a generic and unknown brand name, and now with this knowledge, i will make moves to rectify the mistake.

To all, thank you so much for helping me move forward and i look forward to reading other opinions as the day passes
