Event ID 51, 9, and 11 errors help!

So my bosses PC is having trouble. Quickbooks is crashing frequently. I looked into the system log file to find these errors which have been going on for atleast a week. The quickbooks error is also listed below, it has occured today and about 1 week ago. First step... I need to know if this is a hardware or software issue. Any thoughts? If you know how to fix this please enlighten me.

Looks like he has an issue with a hard disk. Usually a problem with a cable, device controller failure or device failure. I've also heard that GoBack software can cause similar errors. Check if he has GoBack installed, then check the cables and go from there.

No GoBack. We do have Norton Ghost 12.0 running. Backups the data to an external drive on a nightly basis.

PC is way under a desk, I doubt any cables have been jarred or anything like that.

That would leave the hard drive controller/harddrive itself is going bad? Would it make sense to run spinrite on the drive?
