Heat sink extention

Hello,
if you look at Asus E35M1-I Deluxe
picture you can see two heat sink shafts next to the I/O. do you think a heat sink extension can be coupled there ?

Heatsink extensions generally don't work very well unless you solder the two parts together or get a very flush surface and thermal glue them together. I don't really see you could accomplish either with that small design without a major redesign
