Upgrade CPU for P5LD2-VM

If i upgraded my CPU(Intel Pentium D 945(http://processorfinder.intel.com/details.aspx?sSpec=SL9QQ)) to a Intel Q9400 Core 2 Quad Processor, will my P5LD2-Vm be able to handle the speeds?
Is the P5LD2-VM strong enough to handle the upgrade?

EDIT: If not, what is the best CPU this MOBO can use?

This mobo does not support the processor as I too had this board. I required the Core 2 quad support.

Here is the link to confirm using the mobo that you have specified:

Search CPU using: motherboard, then select the Type and then Name. You will then be prompted with all supported processors for this particular mobo.

Thanks, 1 more thing, my MOBO says it supports 65nm, would it be dangerous to install a 45nm processor?

If it is listed on the website, then you are good to go, however, you will be required to download the required BIOS to allow support.
If you have installed the 65 into the board that only has BIOS support for 45nm then you may possibly run into problems. Best thing to do is to download the required BIOS and then do you swaps and then boot off usb/cd/dvd to upgrade the BIOS.

What is the 45nm processor if you don't mind me asking?????

the E6300 as it is the only best thing i can get at my local store.

But the thing is that they only sell it in 45nm , it says it is supported but im notsure if they include 45nm and the 65nm.

The E6300 is a Core2Duo processor and is 65nm, whereas anything above E7xx is 45nm

E6300 65nm 1.86ghz (older, conroe/allendale core)

E6300 45nm 2.8ghz (newer wolfdale core)
