I wish to add a second SATA 3.5" HDD to my XP PC with an MSI K8T Neo2-FIR motherboard.
The main HDD is a Samsung SP2504C SpinPoint P1 (250 GB). This is a SATA 2.0 (3.0 Gbit/s) drive, and it was necessary to constrain it to SATA 1.0 (1.5 Gbit/s) by setting a jumper.
I have a new Samsung SpinPoint F1 SATA II 320 GB HDD (Model No. HD322HJ), but the BIOS cannot see this drive at all, and so the Samsung ES Tool cannot be used to set it to 1.5 Gbit/s as per the instructions in the installation guide.
Does anyone know of any SATA drive currently available commercially that can be set via jumper to SATA 1.0? (80 GB capacity would be sufficient.)
