Hello i have a new OCZ Vertex 2 SSD 60GB. The specs for it said 285 mb/s read and 275 mb/s write but yet im getting about 190mb/s read and 65mb/s write using HDTune. Trim is enabled, AHCI is enabled on bios too. Driver is updated too. What should i do? Driver is aligned too.

This is my specs
Intel i5-2400 3.1ghz/6mb lga 1155
ASUS SABERTOOTH P67 LGA 1155
KINGSTON HYPER X SPECIAL 12800/1600 8GB

One slight note, I have not installed windows 7 on it, just using it as a drive.

Look at the drive using AS SSD Benchmark to see if it is aligned. Also, the more your run benchmarks on the Sandforce drive, the worse it will perform, as you put it into a throttle state. Here is a thread on the OCZ forum on that topic: http://www.ocztechnologyforum.com/forum/showthread.php?85029-Understanding-SF1200-drives-TRIM-OP-area-use-and-Life-write-throttle

Also, you might want to verify if the drive is either 25nm or 34nm drive, as the 25nm has deceased performance on those drives. Here is a more information: http://www.ocztechnologyforum.com/forum/showthread.php?86056-Info-regarding-32-and-25nm-64Gbit-drives-that-did-not-meet-IDEMA-specifications.

Same issue here

I recently installed a Vertex 2 180 on my P55 system (ECS P55H-A) and the thing is not only that is not performing any much better than the G.Skill Falcon 64 i had from 2009 but neither SSD exceed 180~190 mbs at the best of cases... So it wasn't the Falcon's fault for such low numbers as i thought all this time.

It was only just a few days ago that i thought if maybe there's an issue with P55 chipsets and SSDs and so i stumbled on few resources (*) stating that the 5 series chipsets have issues with SSD when power saving technologies are enabled. But disabling all power saving options in my case it only added about 10 mb/s more .... ( Is there a chance the sata cables are sata 1 or something? i think theres no such limitation, all sata cables allow any tranfer rate ?) Any ideas ?

Windows 7 x64 SP1,
i7 860,
Sata 2,
AHCI,
currently latest RST drivers (started with stock MS drivers, no difference),
drive / partitions aligned,
drive came with FW 1.3,

Unfortunately i didn't bench before i format / partition / fill it. Now hosts the OS in the first of the three partitions (50 Gb - OS, 50 Gb - Apps, 75 GB - Apps)
