GA-K8NS Pro not providing power to SATA?

My motherboard doesn't provide power to SATA devices, I don't know if it's supposed to or not, does anyone know? If it is supposed to provide power, anyone have any suggestions as to why my new 500gb drive won't get power? I used to use legacy connectors so power wasn't an issue but the new HD doesn't have legacy connectors.

SATA HDD do not get power from the MB.
They get the power from the PSU just like the old IDE HDDs. The Power wire looks different than the 4 pin molex power connector that went to the IDE HDD. If Your PSU does not have SATA power connectors you will need to get a Molex to SATA adaptor.
