I am having problems with my LAN connection, by default i set it to a static IP address bcoz i dont use DHCP, when i tried to edit my IP address, i noticed that it was set to DHCP or Obtain Automatically. so i changed it to static IP, then a window prompt me to restart my PC which was very ODD since im already using windows XP PRO. so i restarted the machine. After the restart. i checked on the IP address and still it was set to DHCP and the value for my IP address was my static IP Address. There are the list of things that i have done, and still no result in changing my IP address. I need to change my IP addres so i can connect to our other network whenever i go to remote areas.
Same goes with my WIFI adapter it seems i cant connect to any of my WIFI router. and same problem i cant obtain IP addresses from Routers in DHCP mode.
Actions done: 1.) I have tried IPCONFIG but it seems it is restricted even using the administrator account.
* An Internal error occured: Access Denied * Please Contact Microsoft Product Support Services for further help. * Additional information: Unable to open registry key for tcpip
This is the error from ipconfig
2.) I have tried the M'soft Fixit and no effect and the netsh still no result. 3.) I have tried winsock repair still no effect. 4.) I have tried running FULL SYSTEM SCAN for Bitdefender 2009 5.) I have tried running spybot still no detection. 6.) I have tried running M'Soft Malware Detection still no detection. 7.) I have tried running IP Profiling softwares and it seems still restricted even in Administrator's account.
My Settings:
1.) For my LAN connection i use STATIC IP Address. 2.) And DHCP for my WIFI.
I hope you guys can help me with this.
Thanks in advance.
