How do I erase files I backed up but no longer need on the external hard-drive My Passport Essential

Are you using included software to do the backup? Is the backup encrypted or put into a proprietary file type? If so you will probably want to post this in the WD community forum as others there will understand what you are looking at http://community.wdc.com/t5/WD-External-Drives/ct-p/external_drives. If not you should just be able to navigate to the drive via "My Computer" and delete anything you want.
