How to tell if all the pins are working?

I was applying ocz thermal grease and a little bit got on to the other side of the cpu accidentally. I cleaned it off with alcohol but that area is a tiny bit less shiny than the rest. I looked at the socket pins and there doesn't seem to be any paste there. Is there a way to tell if all the pins are working at 100%? I feel terrible...

Yeah, start the system and see if it shorts out. Or runs normally.

It runs normally. So does that mean all the pins are connected perfectly? I mean is it possible the cpu is working at 80% capacity or something? It's kinda hard to tell by performance alone

It is running normally, otherwise the CPU would short out and the system would not run at all.
