Hey guys, I'm looking to build a budget gaming system from $500-$600. This will be my first real build.

APPROXIMATE PURCHASE DATE: Within the next week
BUDGET RANGE: $500-$600 (the Cheaper the better)

SYSTEM USAGE FROM MOST TO LEAST IMPORTANT: gaming (mostly wow, but i want it to be good enough to play Aion/SWTOR when they come out, surfing the net, watching movies

PARTS NOT REQUIRED: monitor, keyboard, mouse, and graphics card (already have a 4850)

PREFERRED WEBSITE(S) FOR PARTS: I have always used newegg before, but I'm always open to trusted sites. I am also thinking of going to a Microcenter this weekend.

PARTS PREFERENCES: the best bang for my buck, have always used amd/ati before, but im open to intel

OVERCLOCKING: Maybe a bit (like raising the multiplier of a BE a bit) SLI OR CROSSFIRE: i may get another 4850 in the future, since their price seems to be decreasing rapidly

MONITOR RESOLUTION: 1680x1050, and I'm using a second CRT monitor to play movies on/look up things of firefox while gaming.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: What I've got so far:

Hard Drive (I don't need nearly this much space, but i've constantly seen you guys recommend it.)

CPU + Mobo (This is the biggest thing up for question, as i would like to get a Quad Core if possible)

Case + PSU combo (I love the look of the Storm Scout, I'm not sure about the PSU but im thinking i just may pick up an Antec 300)

Memory (I have recently bought G Skill and they seem good)

You might want to look into this case/psu

A significantly better PSU than the cooler master and more powerful, more than capable of handling 2 4850's in the future. And good luck getting a quad, obviously AMD's sales with through the roof as the 955 is sold out. Other than that everything else looks pretty good.

Get this RAM instead (lower latencies): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 820227297. Other than that and possibly the PSU it looks good. If you pick the 300 go with this PSU or one by Corsair, PC P&C, etc: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] ream%20pro
