With my Formula V motherboards overclock software Turbo V, I am able to turn off my last 2 cores and turn my 1100T to a quad core. will i get better temps and be able to get a better overclock with this? I mostly use my computer for gaming and i dont need the extra cores.

Just wondering if this will help at all or if it will break anything?

Solution
I would give it a try. With fewer cores, you will generate less heat, and possibly get a higher OC.
I did this with a 2600K, turning off hyperthreading . In retrospect, I should have saved the $100, but as an early adopter, I knew less then:(
