Help installing a storage drive

Hello,I have a Biostar A740G M2+ motherboard and i want to install a Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 the problem is that my computer does not recognize it. It shows up on the bios and on the device manager but not on the Disk Management. i also get an error saying "bank interleave requested but not enabled" does any1 know what i can do to use my new drive?
I am running windows XP if that helps at all.

I have no idea about the "blank interleave" message.

Are you sure the drive doesn't show up in Disk Management? It won't show up in the top of the middle pane until you partition and format it - but if you scroll down to the bottom of the middle pane you should see it labeled as something like "Disk 1", "Disk 2", or other similar disk number. If you see it there you can right-click on it to create a volume (which partitions it) and then format it.
