Old hard drive with vista started getting a corrupted boot sector due to viruses. I bought a new drive, and installed windows 7 on it. Now I've connected the old drive and I am getting the message "drive is not accessible access is denied" when I try and open it in windows explorer. I have tried to set the ownership of the drive with no succes, I have run a virus scan on the old drive succesfully and removed the viruses, I have run a disk check on it succesfully and the computer seems to recognize it and recognize all the data on it. How can I get windows to let me use the thing again?

Need to edit the permissions for that drive in it's Properties>security.
If I were you, I would just erase the whole thing, if no important data on it. I use killdisk for that, then I can just format it and I have a "new" HDD.

Yeah I will, just have to get some videos of the first year or so of my daughters life. In what way do I need to edit the permissions? According to the computer I have "system" and "administrators" set with full control.
