Hi, I have an XP pc, Gigabyte GA-K8NS Ultra-939 AMD Socket 939 motherboard. The current IDE hard disks are full. I have fitted two WD 500g SATA disks. The USB port sees them as USB devices and suggests that they can be uninstalled. I can't find them anywhere on Computer. I would like to either use them for storage or as the main HD. Any suggestions?

They probably need to be partitioned and formatted. To save me typing, please see Step Five of http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/265764-32-guide-installed-disk-system.

If that (or any of the other steps) doesn't solve your problem, let us know more details. Good luck.

If they don't show up in Disk Management, you're probably lacking some drivers or your BIOS needs to be updated.
