Start>Right click My Computer>Properties>Hardware>DeviceManager
Scroll down to Sound Controler, click on the (+) sign next to it,right click on the sound controler, select update, follow path> allow windows to search for your driver.

If that didnt work you need to find out what kind of sound device you have and go online the the web-site and download the driver from there..Save to desk top...Go back to Device Manager and instead of letting windows find the driver select "No not at this time"...Next window...Select "Install from a specific location" Next...Browse to the desk top and select the driver you downloaded.
