6950 Unlocked Instability

Hello Guys! (and girls)

I flashed my brand new MSI R6950 Twin Frozr II to a modified Shader unlocked BIOS yesterday.

Did some test and the card is getting artifacts in 3DMark Vantage on the Graphic Test 1 // Jane Nash Test

It's not like straight on artifacts, but every 20 seconds or less you can see scattered black pixels and sometimes green//bluish squares and corner shapes.

Card is operating @ 1.12 volt as shown in MSI AfterBurner on speeds 810/1250 that came originally.

Though it's strange, when i run Furmark i have no artifacts until the CPU is up in it's 950 core.

I try to put the core voltage from 1.1 - 1.3v at 810/1250 but still getting artifact on 3DMARK.

Is the card bad? it was the only new 6950 unopened box i could find there.

i tried downclocking it to 800/1250 @ 1.1v with the unlocked shaders but even that didn't work. confusing how the artifacts only show up in 3DMark Vantage.

Just switched back to the backup original bios i made, and now back to 1408 shaders @ stock speed.

FUNNY PART: STILL HAVING ARTIFACTS! LOL

Returning this card to Frys Electronics next week a MSI R6950 Twin Frozr III instead.

Yeah, always test the card before unlocking it ^_^. Anyway yeah put the BIOS back and return it

im scared of unlocking cards now, hate driving 30 miles just for a darn card.

what is the best card i can buy for $300?
