I am a draftsman in the land surveying field. I am in the process of updating my skills on autocadd having been stuck for many years with minimal skills in an old cadd environment. I want to purchase a laptop that will perform well with at least autocadd 2008. I don't have a lot of technical knowledge-I am learning. Can anyone help me?

generally videocards that support autocad the best are only available in desktops.

 

if you want to do 2d work any laptop with a good seperate video card will work ok.

 

if you need to do 3d work... you need to get a desktop and a professional series video card.
