what is your bugdet
and what is purpose of the card
but I would definitely start with 9800GT 512 mb version make sure that it has power connecter not eco version not even GTS 250 since you have Athlon X2 4200+ that is 2.1 ghz processor it will bottleneck the Graphic card.

-------------------------------

Why? a GTX260 core 216 cost $189.99 in newegg...and a AMD X2 6000+ cost $79.99 in newegg....so the total is less that the $400 that you have....

your budget is very sufficient to upgrade your cpu
if your board is AM2+ go with
Processor AMD Phenom II X3 720 BE $120
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103649
Graphic Card Sapphire Radeon HD4870 Vapor X $150
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102825
Mother Board GIGABYTE GA-MA790X-UD4P $110
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128387
Lots of features, no integrated graphics to get tangled up in...supports almost every AMD processor of the last three years
I checked your board it is not AM2+ it only supports AM2 processor
so i have cut down the CPU and Card and Added a Motherboard and your total goes upto $380

Ok, the configuration of fshaharyar is better, and with win xp sp3 is really cool...but only the system recognize 2GB, so install vista x64 or xp x64....buy the phenom ii 955 is really cool.....off cors, if your mobo support this processor.

Hi if your budget is 400$, i would get a new processor and a video card, 400$ can buy you a lot of nice stuff these days, you can even get a new processor and sli or crossfire your rig.
