Cd rom is recognized and working but does not recognize disk. In dos hardware resource how do you know if there is a conflict and how do you fix it?

Hardware resource conflicts are pretty rare now. So are CD rom drives. Possibly the media you are using is not recognized by the drive. Try to see if a music CD (a real one, not a burn) works.
