Hi, I wanna build a high end gaming pc I allready have 295 gtx on my old pc I am looking to make a new build.

the parts I am thinking of buying:
1-Intel i7 975 ex or i7 920
2-Rampage II Extreme
3- 6 gb x3 DDr3 1600 mhz or 1800 mhz or 2133 mhz whichever I can find but please suggest
4- 10,000 rpm 300 gb
5-1000 w psu
6- v8 cooler or thermal 14 copper 1 whatever I can find
7- add another xfx 295 gtx run them in quad I allready get some miro stutter in some games so I am used to it and dosent bother me lol.
8- case depends on what I find in my area probably gigabyte or something.

I am looking into overclocking the 975 to 4.1ghz and I really want the highest fps in most current games if you suggest any changes to the cpu or otherr components please do I allways ask ppl about the i7920 but they give the same answer its cheap and u can get it 4.0 well some ppl reach 3.5-6 my question is not the money but if the extreme will gain more fps in most demanding games id go for it if it will help.
If a 920 can match it overclocked in games performance wise id go with 920 but am not trying to save money here I really want to build a gd pc .

things I don't plan to get is solid state. too expensive here

the 975 won't OC higher or give u higher FPS, it is just for gaming enthusiasts with money to spend and don't know how to OC

the 975 is just a factory overclocked 920..........In other words go with the 920, don't waste your money

and i would use the 5870/5890 if i were u, be future proof and get great FPS, even more than the GTX 295

i7 975 definitely overclocks better and easier than i7 920 due to higher binning and unlocked multiplier. For gaming though the i7 975 isnt really worth the extra expense.

-If you the money for a 975 go for it, ITs stock setting is really high to start with and you can overclock it higher then a 920.

-For a build like this and for your processor here is the ram I would get:
Mushkin Enhanced Redline 6GB, its got 1600Mhz, not a super fast data rate but it has extremly good timings 6-7-6-18 so it should be very fast. Or get 6GB of ram with 2133mhz Data Rate but it will most likley have CL9....

-About your 10,000rpm 300GB, i would get two fast 7200rpm drives and run them in raid 0 for performance.
